Small Woodcuts

Farting around from 1968-1970

in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The woodcuts on this page represent some of the

work I did in 1968 to 1970. Some of the woodcuts

are actual size while others are about twice actual

size on this page. Some are about half size. In those

years I moved around a lot and had no permanent

place to live, so small images afforded me the ability

to carry much of my work around in an old

leather mail bag I found in the trash somewhere in

Pittsburgh, Pa., where I carved and printed with a

wooden spoon many of these images, on Sekishu

rice paper. Many images wound up illustrating text in

the underground press, which flourished at that time,

as well as providing me with some income from

meager but much appreciated sales. The woodcut

prints you see here are still available for sale for

$25.00, mailing free. PayPal accepted. Or contact

me at the e-mail provided at markbulwinkle.com.
